Tom Gores’ charitable donations to SAY Detroit have become an annual occurrence. Earlier this week, the Detroit Pistons owner found a creative way to spur the spirit of giving in children. Gores called the Detroit non-profit’s annual radiothon Thursday evening and pledged $350,000 during the event for the charity providing assistance to the city’s neediest residents, needs that have been exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic.

How Tom Gores’ call for change has assisted Detroit Pistons’ community involvement

With the COVID-19 crisis still ongoing, voters need safe options for the upcoming election. The Detroit Pistons continue to assist those efforts. Last month, on the first day of early voting in Michigan, Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, Detroit City Clerk Janice Winfrey and Pistons vice chairman Arn Tellem unveiled a voting drop box that sits just outside the Henry Ford Pistons Performance Center.

The 10th Anniversary of the Jalen Rose Leadership Academy (JRLA) Celebrity Golf Classic was held on August 24 in Detroit. The weekend was hosted by NBA Star and current ABC/ESPN Analyst, Jalen Rose, and many of his celebrity friends to benefit the open enrollment, public charter high school he founded in his hometown of Detroit.

Detroit Pistons owner Tom Gores, Nets owner Joe Tsai partner to donate PPE gear for city of Detroit

Brooklyn Nets Owner Joe Tsai, and Detroit Pistons Owner Tom Gorres usually compete against each other during the NBA season but now they find themselves fighting against a common opponent, COVID-19. The two are teaming up to donate and deliver 350,000 KN95 masks and 100,000 medical goggles to Detroit. Mayor Duggan said the donation will help more than just first responders.
